Operations

At PJC we see the “Operations” or “Operational Area” as one of the main key areas of a business and one we at PJC have focused our services around. There are many varying and differing areas within business across the mining and construction sectors. PJC understands all these varying and differing areas need to be assessed and managed adequately and responsibly.

To this end PJC has a depth and diversity built from a long working history assisting in the mining and the construction sectors which places it in good stead to assist and to deliver to your needs.

These PJC operational services can be wide and varied and in several areas across the business or works covering either, the operation of, or the management of, your business or works.

Often the “Operations” area is seen as the “Operator” area, but this is not the only area that can significantly influence your business and the service you are intending to deliver to the client or end user.

To allow us to be a service to you in this area, please use this “Contacts Links” to contact us directly or the “Quick Enquiry” section below and let us know the area that is of interest with a brief needs related message so we may be able to assist.

The following sections outline just some of the service areas PJC is able to assist with that can apply to your businesses Operations area.

Business Management

One key area PJC sees and is able to assist with is the “Management of” that service you are delivering. Our management systems approach can enhance your service delivery in many areas, such as in quality, quantity, timely and cost effectively, being just a few areas that can be improved on with assistance from PJC.

“Management” covers a greater part of the success of a business that most realise and often businesses start out with a business plan that can quickly is outgrown or no longer matching in with the delivery or service being marketed or delivered. The management of a businesses total operations starts well before the point of the pick strikes the ground. The Business Plan should be seen like a blanket that covers all the business even to the point that it looks not at only the now but over time, this can be referred to as “from the cradle to the grave” or “life cycle”.

This is an area often over looked in the busy world of owner operator started small businesses and businesses that are lucky enough to have been successful and have grown into a larger business entity and/or direction that their original starting or planned enter level.

Risk Management

PJC sees risk management a critical to both the safe operations of a business as well as the effective operation of a business. Risk applies equally to the the financial side as it does to the operational side of a compliant and safe operation or business. Some businesses focus can be shifted in that they are inadequately assessing and/or addressing these areas of risk.

Risk management is a very important and should not be viewed to be in the financial area or just the operations area, nor only requiring assessment at the start of a business or service delivery, it is a skill that needs to be held by all and continually applied across the business, service and works and include consultation and communications with all stakeholder groups.

Risk management relies on the assessment of the business or service potential hazards against an acceptable standard, which needs to be agree to and looks at the likelihood of the event occurring and the consequence of the event it. Once identified it then can be assessed and controls put in play to manage the risk to an acceptable level be it related to the area/s of costs, people, equipment, environment and the risk management plan disseminated and communicated to all stakeholders
